Two weeks and counting down until the November 15 release of The Dollmaker, the second of my The Forgotten Files novels. I’m excited to soon be introducing everyone to medical examiner Tessa McGowan, her not-yet-ex, Virginia State Police Agent Dakota Sharp, and the serial killer whose twisted pursuits surprised even me. Want to meet them sooner? Enter and you may be one of two winners. Hurry. The Dollmaker Two Weeks, Two Books, Two Winners Flash Giveaway ends Wednesday at midnight.
You’re invited to enjoy the latest sneak peek from The Dollmaker. A new excerpt is up now. In it, Virginia State Police Agent Dakota Sharp receives an unexpected call from his estranged wife, pathologist Tessa McGowan. He’s in for a surprise. Actually several. I hope you’ll have a chance to take a look.
Before She Dies is in the spotlight again.
Kensington has recently re-released it with a bit of fanfare and a new cover as they reach out to readers new to my books and those who simply haven’t had a chance to read this one yet. Publishers Weekly’s starred review says Before She Dies “will have readers sleeping with the lights on.” So, if you haven’t met Alexandria Homicide Detectives Daniel Rokov, Malcolm Kier and Deacon Garrison or Angie Carlson and Charlotte Wellington, the high-powered attorney who becomes Rokov’s love interest, I hope you will soon.
And apologies in advance for any lost sleep.
I love the holidays and all they entail, including stories centered on the spirit of Christmas.
I’m happy to claim one as my own—A Ranger for Christmas. A novella, it’s featured in the USA Today bestseller, Our First Christmas, which has just been published in a mass market edition for the first time. It features stories from authors Lisa Jackson (Under the Mistletoe), Mary Carter (A Southern Christmas) and Cathy Lamb (Christmas in Montana).
Ready for some holiday romance?
I can’t resist a quick share of reader response via amazon.com to The Shark, the first of my The Forgotten Files novels. “Outstanding!! . . . Mary Burton’s books are so full of suspense they are hard to put down.”
“Will keep you on your toes from the first page to the last. The end . . . was a real shock.”
“Didn’t want to put this book down. A love story but with mystery, intrigue and more.”
THANK YOU to all who have shared your response to my books on Amazon, Goodreads, among friends and elsewhere. I always appreciate the support and the outreach to other readers. The Dollmaker is next in The Forgotten Files and is out on November 15.
